Refund Policy

What is covered

Your subscription fee — the recurring monthly charge for your plan — is refundable in full within 30 days of the payment. This applies to your first payment and to any renewal.

What is not covered, and why

Metered usage above your plan's included records is not refundable once those records have been served.

We think that is fair, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it. Every record beyond your allowance is data we crawled, stored and delivered to you at your request; it cannot be returned. Refunding it after delivery would be the same as giving the data away.

We do several things so that overage is never a surprise:

• Your plan states exactly how many records are included and what the rate is beyond them.
• You must agree to the metered rate before any overage is billed. Without that agreement on record, our billing will not charge it.
• We email you at 80% and 100% of your included records, before the overage accrues.
• Overage is billed in arrears on your next invoice, so you see it before you pay it.
• Every account has a monthly ceiling that stops requests entirely, so automation that runs away cannot run up an unbounded bill.

If overage was caused by something on our side — duplicate records, a fault in our metering, or a defect that made you repeat requests — tell us and we will correct the invoice. That is a billing error, not a refund, and we will fix it.

How to request a refund

1. Email index@roleset.io from the address on your account, or reply to any invoice.
2. Tell us which payment you would like refunded. Nothing else is required.
3. We reply within two business days.

Refunds are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, back to the original payment method. Paddle typically completes them within 14 days of approval, though your bank may take longer to show it.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then, and are not charged again. Metered usage already incurred before cancellation remains payable.

Your statutory rights

Nothing here reduces rights you have by law. If you bought as a consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel — including a 14-day right of withdrawal in the EU and UK, and the rights described in Paddle's own refund policy, which applies alongside this one. Where they differ, whichever gives you more applies.

Abuse

We will decline a refund where there is evidence of fraud or repeated refund abuse — for example, subscribing, extracting a large export, and requesting a refund each month. This is rare, and we would rather say it once than police it.
